Your North Star

Want to write a book? It's a question that's crossed my mind more times than I can count. As someone who has always been captivated by the power of words and the allure of storytelling, the prospect of putting my thoughts onto paper has always been a tantalizing one. But like many aspiring authors, I grappled with the initial question: What should I write about? What would be my unique contribution to the vast world of literature? As I embarked on my writing journey, I found myself pondering a few key questions that helped me unearth the spark that would ultimately fuel my creative endeavors.

What is unique to me? This was the starting point. We all possess a reservoir of experiences, interests, talents, and educational backgrounds that distinguish us from others. To write a book that truly stands out, I had to first identify what set me apart. It was in the tapestry of my life, woven with peculiar experiences and diverse passions, that I began to uncover the raw material for my literary adventure.

What can I talk endlessly about and still feel energized when I'm done? The answer to this question was a key indicator of where my true passions lay. If you can't stop talking about a particular subject, if you find yourself animated and excited whenever you engage in a conversation about it, then you're onto something. For me, it was the world of science fiction and the endless possibilities it presented. I could talk about futuristic concepts, alternate realities, and the potential of technology for hours on end and still feel invigorated.

What do I daydream about? Is it a story, a concept, or an innovation? Our daydreams often reveal our subconscious desires and interests. It was during my daydreams that I discovered a recurring theme of a distant future where humans had harnessed the power of the cosmos to explore uncharted realms. The seeds of a unique science fiction narrative began to sprout.

The next step was crucial – I needed to affirm that my idea was worth pursuing. Doubt can be a formidable adversary for any writer, and I had to remind myself that the idea I wanted to put on paper was worth it. Why? Because I was worth it, and this concept was a reflection of my very essence. So before I even put pen to paper, I had to affirm my ideas and my desire to write.

However, much like the North Star in the night sky, sometimes finding that idea can be a challenge. I live in Wyoming, where the night sky is often a canvas painted with stars. It's a mesmerizing sight, but I must admit that, like many others, I often struggled to find the North Star amidst the vast expanse of constellations. It was an experience I could relate to, and just as I would call my husband outside to help me find that guiding star, I needed guidance in pinpointing my writing direction.

That's where Clear Wind, my business, came into play. I realized that sometimes, you need help finding your own North Star, those ideas that you are passionate about, and then putting them into words. Clear Wind is here to provide that guidance. With a little help, I can empower you to identify your areas of expertise, your passion, and your brilliance. The journey of writing a book can be daunting, but with the right support, you can navigate the celestial expanse of your creativity and find your North Star. So, let's get writing, and together, we can make your literary dreams a reality.
